It’s a good idea to check your audio and video quality before the class, to ensure that you can see and hear the class easily.

All participants audio will be muted during the class.

If you miss a class or would like to practice the class again during the week, you will be able to view the recording for 6 weeks from the course start date.

Preparing for an online Embodied Rest course

Please find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed for the duration of the class.

Please wear something comfortable.

You will need to provide your own props for the course.  If you have (or would like to purchase) traditional yoga props, including a yoga mat, 2-3 blankets, 1-2 yoga bolsters, 2 yoga blocks and an eye pillow, you can use these.

However you can also use things from around your house, including blankets, pillows, cushions, couch cushions, books and scarves.

When you sign up you will receive a list of what is required, and substitutes from around the home.

What’s the difference between iRest Yoga Nidra and Embodied Rest?

Embodied Rest and iRest Yoga Nidra are similar in that they’re both usually practiced lying down in a supported and comfortable position.

iRest Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice and in an iRest class with me, I spend about half the class talking about the theme of the class and facilitating a discussion, and half the class guiding you through a meditation practice.

Embodied Rest is a deep relaxation practice that I developed myself after years of teaching yoga, meditation and relaxation, that draws on the teachings and practices of iRest, mindfulness, Restorative Yoga, and pranayama (breath training).  There is very minimal talking in the class and luxury of spacious deep relaxation.
